World Map Quiz

The world map quiz shows you a map with one country highlighted and asks a single question: which country is it? You answer from four options, ten times per game. It sounds simple until the highlighted shape is somewhere in Central Asia or the Sahel and all four options suddenly feel possible.

Map knowledge is different from name knowledge. Plenty of people who can recite capitals cannot point at Laos, and the reverse is just as common. This quiz trains the visual half: position, borders, size and neighborhood. Because the whole world is in the pool, you will bounce from South America to Southeast Asia to the Balkans within one round, and the mental map that forms after a dozen games covers the entire planet.

The map is a clean vector rendering that loads fast and stays sharp when you zoom. Games need no account and run on any phone, tablet or computer. If the world at once feels too broad, the continent versions narrow the pool: the Europe map quiz, Africa map quiz and Asia map quiz each focus on a single region, which makes an excellent progression path before returning to the full world map.

How to play

  1. Press Play. The world map appears with one country shown in blue.
  2. Choose the country’s name from the four options under the map.
  3. Work through ten highlighted countries and see how many you placed correctly.

Frequently asked questions

How many countries can appear on the world map quiz?

More than 160 countries are large enough to be visible and clickable on the world map. Very small states like Monaco or Malta appear in the continent quizzes and other modes instead.

Is the world map quiz free?

Yes. You get five free games a day with no sign-up. Premium removes the daily limit and opens all 13 modes.

What is the hardest region on the map?

Players struggle most with landlocked Africa, Central Asia and the Caribbean. Countries with distinctive shapes, like Italy or Chile, are rarely missed.

Can I practice one continent at a time?

Yes. There are separate map quizzes for Europe, Africa and Asia, each using the same rules on a zoomed regional map.
